For a long time,Shakespeare's first romance Pericles,Prince of Tyre has been criticized for its loose and chaotic structure.However,from the perspective of time,the play has its merits.It mainly presents three complete and meaningful temporal structure modes:first,a temporal structure beyond the present;second,a temporal structure of historical retrospection;third,a temporal structure pointing to the future.These three temporal structures show Shakespeare's profound thinking about the relationship between man and time.
