A Study on the Kaiming Edition of"Shen Congwen's Collected Works"
In the 1940s,Shen Congwen compiled the"Shen Congwen's Collected Works"and submitted it to Kaiming Bookstore for publication.However,the publishing plan underwent significant changes,and only a portion of the works were published.In terms of versions,there are works from the early Guilin Kaiming edition and works from the later Shanghai Kaiming edition;in terms of the list of works,the belief of"13 versioins"should be discarded;in terms of personnel relations,the publication received strong support from Ye Shengtao;in terms of origin and outcome,Shen Congwen compiled the"Shen Congwen's Collected Works"to alleviate economic pressure and summarize his literary achievements,but it was ultimately destroyed by the Kaiming Bookstore,with the publishing plan aborted and the works regrettably lost;in terms of value,"Shen Congwen's Collected Works"has both version value and critical value.
