Effects of Frailty on Anxiety and Depression,Immune Function and Cognitive Function in Elderly Patients with Rheumatoid Arthritis
Objective:To observe the effects of frailty on anxiety and depression, immune function and cognitive function in el-derly patients with rheumatoid arthritis(RA).Methods:138 RA patients who were admitted to our hospital from January 2019 to Decem-ber 2021 were selected, and patients were divided into frailty group and non-frailty group according to whether frailty occurred. The changes of anxiety and depression scores, immune function related indicators and cognitive function scores in frailty group and non-frailty group were compared. Results:Among 138 elderly RA patients,91 had frailty, and 47 had no frailty.Patients were divided in-to frailty group(n=91)and non-frailty group(n=47)according to whether they were frail or not.The scores of self-rating anxiety scale(SAS)and self-rating depression scale(SDS)in frailty group were higher than those in non-frailty group(P<0.05).CD3+,CD4+and CD4+/CD8+in frailty group were lower than those in non-frailty group, and CD8+was higher than that in non-frailty group(P<0.05).The Mini-Mental State Examination(MMSE)score and Montreal Cognitive Assessment(MoCA)score in frailty group were lower than those in non-frailty group(P<0.05).Conclusion:Frailty can increase the degree of anxiety and depression in elderly RA patients, and can also lead to a decline in immune function and cognitive function.
