Expression of Serum IL-33/ST2 Axis Levels in Patients with Recurrent Spontaneous Abortion and Analysis of Their Predictive Value
Objective:To investigate the expression of serum interleukin-33(IL-33)/suppression of tumorigenicity 2(ST2)axis levels and its predictive value in patients with recurrent spontaneous abortion(RSA).Methods:80 patients with RSA treated in The Sec-ond Affiliated Hospital of Soochow University from January 2021 to January 2023 were selected as the RSA group, and another 80 preg-nant women with no history of abnormal pregnancy who underwent abortion during the same period were selected as the control group.Serum IL-33 and soluble ST2(sST2)levels were measured by enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay.Pearson correlation was used to ana-lyze the correlation between serum IL-33 and sST2 levels in patients with RSA,multivariate Logistic regression was used to analyze the factors affecting RSA,and the predictive value of serum IL-33 and sST2 levels for RSA was analyzed by receiver operating characteristic(ROC)curve. Results:Compared with the control group, the serum IL-33 and sST2 levels in the RSA group increased(P<0.05).Pearson correlation analysis showed a positive correlation between serum IL-33 and sST2 levels in patients with RSA(r=0.746,P<0.001).Multi-variate Logistic regression analysis showed that reproductive tract infection, elevated serum IL-33 and sST2 levels were independent risk factors for RSA(P<0.05).ROC curve analysis showed that the AUC of RSA predicted by the combination of serum IL-33 and sST2 levels was 0.888,which was higher than the 0.794 and 0.840 predicted by serum IL-33 and sST2 levels alone. Conclusion:Elevated serum IL-33 and sST2 levels in RSA patients are independent risk factors for the occurrence of RSA,and abnormal expression of IL-33/ST2 axis levels is involved in the process of RAS.The combined detection of serum IL-33 and sST2 levels has high predictive value for RSA.
