Hyaluronic acid(HA) is a linear polysaccharide chain composed of alternating glucuronic acid and N-acetylglucosamine moieties.Because of the unique molecular structure and the physical and chemical properties,it has been successfully used in cosmetics,medical cosmetology,ophthalmic surgery,arthritis therapy.The recent advances in Hyaluronic acid and its derivatives,especially the preparation of hyaluronic acid come from living marine resources are noted.The application with different molecular weight as pharmaceutical carrier and others are also summarized.
