In recent years,bacteria resistance has become a serious problem,and there is an urgent need to find solutions to prevent and treat infections caused by these bacteria.Phages can be used to prevent and treat drug-resistant bacteria,and many patients would benefit if they are successful in the clinic.However,challenges remain.This article reviews them from five aspects:laws and regulations,social acceptance,standardized therapeutic phage preparations and their quality evaluation,lack of enough phages with clear background,and customization of personalized treatment plans.Based on the clinical treatment and recent research on phage in China and the rest of the world,we comprehensively summarize the limitations encountered by phage therapy entering the clinic and their solutions.
