The gut microbiota plays a crucial role in maintaining gut health.Microbial epigenetic modifications include DNA methylation,histone modification,chromatin remodeling etc.This article reviews the research progress in the field of environmental factors affecting gut microbiota,epigenetic modifications,and DNA methylation in gut microbiota and related cancer pathogenesis,which has certain reference value for the use of intestinal microbiota in the treatment of diseases
