Evaluation of Anti-Inflammatory Activity of Extracts from Different Species of Kusunoki
The anti-inflammatory activities of 5 species of kusunoki are preliminarily evaluated to provide research basis for further development of kusunoki resources and related products.Five species of kusunoki, including Machilus robusta,Machilus kwangtungensis,Machilus salicina,Machilus chekiangensis and Phoebe bournei are extracted by solvent extraction,RAW264.7 cells induced by lipopolysaccharide(LPS)are used as inflammation model,NO production is evaluated by Griess method, and cell viability is evaluated by MTT method. The results show that the extraction of dichloromethane and ethyl acetate from Machilus robusta, extraction of n-hexane from Machilus kwangtungensis, extraction of n-hexane from Machilus salicina, extraction of dichloromethane from Machilus chekiangensis and extraction of water from Phoebe bournei have a good inhibitory effect on the production of NO in LPS-induces RAW264.7 cells, and have little effect on cell viability.Among them, extraction of dichloromethane from Machilus robusta had the strongest inhibitory effect on NO production. The extraction of dichloromethane from Machilus robusta has the best anti-inflammatory activity, which is worthy of further investigation and development.
