Objective:The bacteriostatic effect of extracts of Dahuang,Wubeizi and Zhimu in vitro is studied. Methods:Dahuang,Wubeizi and Zhimu are extracted by water extraction method, and the extracts are concentrated into different concentrations to prepare drug sensitive tablets. The antibacterial effects of three kinds of Chinese medicinal materials on Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus are observed by experiments with different action time, action concentration and minimum inhibitory concentration. Results:Dahuang extract is moderately sensitive to Escherichia coli and highly sensitive to Staphylococcus aureus. The inhibitory degree of Wubeizi extract to Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus is highly sensitive and moderately sensitive. The degree of Wubeizi extract to Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus is low sensitivity and medium sensitivity. The antibacterial effect of the three kinds of Chinese medicinal materials is time-effective.The minimum inhibitory concentration(MIC)of Wubeizi,Dahuang and Zhimu against E.coli are 32 mg/mL,45 mg/mL and 63 mg/mL,respectively.Dahuang has the best effect on Staphylococcus aureus, with a MIC of 38 mg/mL.Conclusion:Dahuang and Wubeizi extract have good bacteriostatic effect, but the bacteriostatic effect of Zhimu is not obvious.
