Objective:An inductively coupled plasma atomic emission spectrometry(ICP-AES)method is developed for the determination of silicon, boron, aluminum and barium in levetiracetam injection. Methods:The samples are directly analyzed by ICP-AES after acidification, and the detection wavelengths are 288.158 nm for silicon,249.772 nm for boron,396.152 nm for aluminum and 493.408 nm for barium.Establish standard equations to examine instrument precision, sample repeatability, and recovery. Results:The linear range is as follows:silicon 0.5~5.0 mg/L,boron 0.1~1.0 mg/L,aluminum 1.0~10.0 mg/L,barium 0.01~0.10 mg/L,the linear correlation coefficients are all greater than 0.999 5;detection limits:silicon 0.044 mg/L,boron 0.006 mg/L,aluminum 0.017 mg/L and barium 0.000 5 mg/L;standard recoveries are 96.3%~103.1%for silicon,90.0%~95.0%for boron,101.3%~106.0%for aluminum,102.0%~105.0%for barium. Conclusion:The method is rapid, accurate, sensitive, and is suitable for the study of the content change of trace elements in drugs form packaging materials.
