Drosophila melanogaster utilize their natural immune response to combat invasion by exogenous pathogens. The protein encoded by the Dscam gene is a cell adhesion molecule, which was first discovered in research on the nervous system.Recent studies have indicated that the Dscam gene also plays an important role in the immune system, participating in the recognition and resistance against pathogens during immune responses. In this study,Dscam gene knockdown mutants are obtained using the UAS/GAL4 system and RNAi technology,Dscam gene knockdown mutants are infected with Escherichia coli and Micrococcus luteus to analyze the relative expression levels of the Dscam and antimicrobial peptides gene. The results show that Dscam gene knockdown significantly inhibited the expression of the Toll signaling pathway.
