Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs(NSAIDs)are extensively employed for treating osteoarthritis,rheumatoid arthritis,and a variety of pain,fever,and related conditions.Nevertheless,clinical studies have brought attention to a potential association between NSAIDs usage and the onset of cardiovascular diseases,including heart failure,hypertension,and thrombosis.With the absence of novel analgesics in current drug development,the prudent and scientifically informed use of NSAIDs has become a focal point for healthcare professionals,patients,and regulatory agencies.Here,we provide an overview of existing evidence regarding the cardiovascular safety of NSAIDs and their corresponding physiopathological effects.We categorize and summarize the mechanisms through which NSAIDs may contribute to various cardiovascular diseases,while also presenting an encapsulation of studies exploring potential cardiovascular mechanisms associated with NSAIDs use.In the present landscape,ensuring the safe and scientifically sound administration of NSAIDs is paramount for preserving the cardiovascular health of patients.Consequently,there is a pressing need for further comprehensive research and vigilant monitoring in this regard.
