Small Private Online Course Combined with the Application of Flipped Classroom in the Teaching of Tissue Embryology
Histology and Embryology is a very important medical basic course,and the study of histology and embryology will lay a solid foundation for the clinical,anesthetic,oral and other professional students to study the medical courses of pathology,physiology and other basic medical courses and the courses of internal science,foreign science,gynecology and other specialized courses.In order to solve the problem that most of the freshmen who have just entered the university have poor mastery of learning methods and self-directed learning ability,the teaching method of small private online course(SPOC)combined with flipped classroom was applied to compare with the traditional teaching method.The results show that 70.66%of the students believe that the online SPOC theory teaching video has a good effect on the advance preview,76.72%of the students believe that the teaching form of students'lecture and discussion and teacher's summary in the flipped classroom could improve their learning initiative and learning effect,and 74.86%of the students think that the SPOC quiz has a good effect on the later review.Compared with the non-educational reform group,the average score of the education reform group increased by 10.54 points,the excellent rate increased by 26.10 percentage points,and the failure rate decreased by 14.88 percentage points.The application of this method has effectively developed the students'good learning habits,improved their own learning ability,learning results and academic achievements,and laid a solid foundation for future learning in other courses and entering clinical work.
