Diagnostic value of T2WI-FLAIR enhanced sequence in gliomas
Objective To study the diagnostic value of T2-weighted imaging fluid-attenuated inversion recovery(T2WI-FLAIR)enhanced sequence in glioma. Methods From October 2021 to July 2023,a total of 104 patients with glioma were en-rolled,which included 26 males and 78 females, aged 28-49 years old with mean age of 40.21 years old;body mass index(BMI)was 23.12-26.78 kg/m2 with mean BMI of 24.35 kg/m2;disease course was 1-3 years with mean course of 1.67 years. There were 57 cases with grade Ⅰ-Ⅱ and 47 with grade Ⅲ-Ⅳ.The patients were divided into 2 groups, grade Ⅰ-Ⅱ as control group(n=57)and grade Ⅲ-Ⅳ as study group(n=47).The signal characteristics of different grades of tumors, the consistency between T2WI-FLAIR enhanced sequence diagnostic grading and gold standard diagnostic grading, and the diagnostic efficacy of T2WI-FLAIR enhanced sequence for glioma grading were compared. Results There were significant differences in signal characteristics between 2 groups of T1WI enhanced sequence,T2WI-FLAIR plain scan sequence and T2WI-FLAIR enhanced sequence(P<0.05).The Kappa value of T2WI-FLAIR enhanced sequence in diagnosis of glioma grading was the highest(Kappa=0.769),which was highly consistent with pathology. The sensitivity of T2WI-FLAIR enhanced sequence in diagnosis and grading of glioma(89.4%vs 70.2%,74.5%)was higher than that of T1WI enhanced sequence and T2WI-FLAIR plain scan sequence(P<0.05).Conclusion It is demonstrated that T2WI-FLAIR en hanced se-quence in imaging diagnosis of glioma could significantly enhance the sensitivity of diagnosis and grading of glioma, and it is rec-ommended for clinical promotion.
