In the era of big data,data archiving is gradually becoming a new trend in data governance.However,the archive department has not been fully prepared,and in the face of the requirements of national policy and the demand for data value release,the actual work lags behind the social practice,the working mode is not adapted to the digital environment,and it is difficult to coordinate the data-related functional departments.The study puts forward the path and guarantee for the expansion of the functions of the archives department for these needs and problems,and discusses the expansion paths at the four levels of"receiving""managing""storing"and"utilizing",and builds a new system for the archives department to give full play to its own functions.From the angles of"law""ability""technology"and"people",it lists the potential help for the expansion of functions,digging out the new functional system of strong protection.By expanding its functions,the archives department can contribute its own strength to the construction and optimization of the national data governance system and governance capacity.
