The start-up time of dynamic current carrying capacity calculation of transmission lines is discussed in this paper.Then,based on two main factors that affect the carrying capacity of a transmission line-temperature and wind speed,combined with a long sequence of historical meteorological data,the variation laws of the intra-day 24-hour wind speed under different seasonal conditions are summarized by analyzing the mutual information of the wind speed in adjacent periods.In accordance with these variation laws,a method for calculating the time periods in the day of dynamic current carrying capacity of a transmission line or a region is proposed.In a year-round simulation validation of a 220 kV transmission line in certain province,it is verified that,the proposed method has greater capacity of capacity expansion in the same transmission line compared with that of the static environment algorithm.
