Passenger Flow Equilibrium Distribution for the Multi-Airport System Considering Passenger Delay
To explore the influence of the uncertainties of multi-airport systems on passenger flow distribution, this paper evaluates the delay cost of passengers from the perspective of air travel chain, and establishes the travel utility function of air passengers by jointly considering travel time, travel cost, and delay cost. Then,we present an equilibrium passenger flow distribution model based on the stochastic user equilibrium theory, which is transformed into variational inequality and solved by the projection and contraction algorithm.Numerical experiments are carried out on a traffic network of a multi-airport system with long and short-haul,verifying the practical applicability of the proposed model and algorithm. The results show that the improvement of the ground transportation level of multi-airport system, the service level of regional airports and flight time reliability are all helpful to reduce the travel delay of passengers and promote the balanced distribution of passenger flow in the multi-airport system.
