Analysis on the Dynamic Evolution and Convergence of China's Grain Total Factor Productivity Since Reform and Opening
Improving the efficiency of food production is a necessary work to ensure a stable increase in food production and ensure food security. This paper uses the DEA-Malmquist index analysis method to summarize the overall characteristics of China's grain total factor productivity, characteristics of different development stages and regional distribution charac-teristics,and explore its causes, and finally analyze its convergence. The results of the study found that:First,China's grain total factor productivity generally showed a slow decline from 1978 to 2018.Through the decomposition of grain total factor productivity,it was found that the backward technological progress of grain production was the main reason hindering the further increase of grain total factor production.Second, the development of my country's grain total factor productivity is at different stages and has undergone a transition from a slow decline to a steady-state growth. The promotion way is promoted from scale efficiency to technological progress, and then to the"double drive"promotion way of technological effi-ciency and technological progress.Third,China's grain total factor productivity has obvious characteristics of regional differences, which are specifically manifested as a state of decreasing in order from the west, central and east;at the same time, the comprehensive technical effi-ciency of my country's grain has a decentralized characteristic. Finally, through the analysis of convergence,we can find that there is convergence and absolute convergence in the total factor productivity of food in the whole country and in the three regions. Therefore, multiple measures are needed to improve the ability of agricultural science and technology innovation and application and the development of new production methods such as smart agriculture in the eastern region to jointly ensure the improvement of food total factor productivity.
