Objective To evaluate the relationship between smartphone dependence tendency and sleep quality among medical students,and provide guidance and help for improving their sleep quality.Methods The general information survey scale,smart-phone addiction tendency(SAPS)scale and pittsburgh sleep quality index(PSQI)scale were used to conduct the questionnaire sur-vey.Results The phenomenon of medical students excessively using smartphones is very common.The smartphone dependence tendency of male medical students was significantly higher than that of female medical students(P<0.05),and the smartphone de-pendence tendency of only children was significantly higher than that of non-only children(P<0.05).The overall PSQI average score of medical students was(4.14±3.16),and there was no correlation between PSQI score and gender,grade,hometown,and whether they were only children.Smartphone dependence tendency was positively correlated with sleep quality(r=0.48,P<0.05).Conclusion Medical students'dependence on smartphones has a negative impact on their sleep quality and health.It is suggested that medical students should improve their self-awareness of health concern and use smart phones scientifically.
