Influence of FDI on the Level of Urban-rural Integration in Developing Regions:A case Study of Six Central Provinces of China
In order to explore the impact of foreign direct investment(FDI)on the level of urban-rural integration in developing regions, this paper takes six provinces in central China as an example, based on the theoretical analysis of the impact mechanism, and the panel data from 2005 to 2022,the systematic GMM model is used for empirical research. The results show that the influence of foreign direct investment on the urban-rural integration development level presents a positive U-shaped nonlinear curve relation-ship,and the lowest point corresponds to FDI quota of 5.47 billion US dollars. Therefore,we can give full play to the role of FDI in promoting urban-rural integration from the aspects of accelerating the process of urban-rural economic integration, guiding the ratio-nal distribution of foreign investment and increasing rural policy support.
