The Diplomacy around the League of Nations before and after the North China Incident and the Change of China's Diplomatic Strategic Policy in the War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression
After the League of Nations Report was passed,Japan announced its withdrawal from the League of Nations and stepped up its invasion towards the inside of the Great Wall.China's diplomacy around the League of Nations faced a new situation. Before and after the outbreak of the Hebei incident,China had strived two times to be re-elected as a non-permanent member of the Executive Council of the League of Nations, but both failed. In response to Japan's continued armed provocations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the National Government responded by insisting on upholding the resolution of the League of Nations and not engaging in formal diplomatic negotiations with Japan.Outside the diplomatic stage of the League of Nations,as Japan attempted to separate North China from China and sought to legalize the gains of the invasion, which challenged China's bottom line, the negotiations between China and Japan around the so-called Hirota Three Principles did not work.In order to change the diplomatic predicament, while starting direct negotiations with Japan,China began to think about chan-ging its diplomatic strategy and seeking allies.
