Study on Yellow Fluorescent Carbon Dots for Detection of Lemon Yellow
In this paper, yellow carbon dots(Y-CDs)were synthesized by one step hydrothermal method with 4-nitro-1,8-naphthalene diarboside and phenylalanine as precursors. The optimal excitation and emission wavelength of carbon dots are 422 nm and 547 nm,and the fluorescence quantum yield is 9.3%.Due to the inner filter effect(IFE),the fluorescence of Y-CDs was quenched significant-ly in the presence of lemon yellow. As a result, the fluorescence sensor for detection of lemon yellow was successfully constructed and the fluorescence detection method with good selectivity based on long-wavelength emissive carbon dots was realized. The linear range is 0.25 μmol/L~14.8 μmol/L,while the detection limit is calculated as 58 nmol/L.The sensor was applied to the detection of lemon yellow in beverage and Fenhe river samples, with recovery ranging from 94.58%to 101.99%.In addition,Y-CDs could also be used to prepare Y-CDs/PVA composites as fluorescent luminescent films, which showed bright yellow solid fluorescence. These results show that Y-CDs has potential application value in environmental detection and solid luminescent films.
