In order to meet the performance requirements of wireless communication systems for antennas,a four-beam metasurface antenna is proposed in this paper.Firstly,a slot antenna which can radiate four beams is realized by increasing the size of the ground plane. Then,a metasurface is covered on the slot antenna to further improve the peak gains of the antenna. Also, the effects of the parameters of the metasurface and the shape of the coupling slot on the antenna performance are analyzed and compared. The simulation results show that the-10-dB impedance bandwidth of the antenna is 520 MHz(5.34~5.86 GHz).At the same time, the antenna can sim-ultaneously radiate four beams pointing to the elevation angle θ of -140°,-40°,+40° and +140°.The peak gains of the four beams are 5.12 dBi,7.12 dBi,7.11 dBi and 5.4 dBi,respectively.
