This paper delves into the impact of generative artificial intelligence(AI)on education,analyzes the three positive impacts and the three potential risks and challenges it brings,and puts forward a clear viewpoint and argument:generative AI has positive impacts on education,but it also needs to pay attention to its potential risks and challenges.From the perspective of positive impacts,generative AI has significant potential in education to improve the efficiency and quality of teaching and learning,to stimulate interest and creativity in learning,and to contribute to the development of skills and literacy needed for the future.However,at the same time,it may also contribute to educational inequity and inequality,jeopardize the authenticity and credibility of education,and threaten the security and privacy of education.Therefore,this paper suggests that teachers,students,parents,gov-ernment,society,and other parties should work together to rationally utilize and regulate and monitor the applica-tion and impact of generative AI in education in order to achieve equity,quality,innovation,and development of education.The application of generative AI in education will continue to evolve in the future,and the whole society should make joint efforts to make it a useful assistant and partner in education,and to promote the progress of edu-cation and social prosperity.
