Study on tensile properties of 6061 ultra-thick aluminum plates in thickness direction at different temperatures
The tensile tests of 6061 aluminum alloy plate with thickness of 212 mm were carried out at 20-250℃to study the effects of temperature and thickness on the tensile properties of 6061 aluminum alloy. The research results show that the strength along the thickness direction of plate decreases linearly, indicating that non-uniformity characteristic exists along the thickness direction. However, the sam-pling direction and temperature have little effect on the non-uniform distribution degree of strength along thickness direction. At 20-250℃,the sensitivity of the tensile properties of 6061 aluminum alloy to temperature is high,at 150 and 250℃,the tensile strength and yield strength decrease by 18%and 45%,respectively,compared with those at 20℃.At the same temperature, the elongation along the thickness direction of 6061 aluminum alloy basically remains unchanged, but with the increase of temperature, there is significant increase in elongation, and at 150℃,the elongation increases to about 80%of that at 20℃.The"temperature-distance"dual-parameter evalua-tion model for the strength of 6061 aluminum alloy was constructed by linear fitting method.
