"Circular Argument":A Misreading——Based on the analysis of the first draft of Economic and Philosophic Manuscript of 1844
The issue of whether there is a"circular argument"in Economic and Philosophic Manuscripts of 1844 has been a long-standing debate in the academic community. In fact,"circular argument"is a misreading of Marx.In the first draft of Economic and Philosophic Manuscripts of 1844,Marx,starting from criticizing national economics, used the lan-guage and laws of national economics to explain issues.Accurately grasping the three key concepts of alienation,externali-zation,and private property and their interrelationships is the key to cracking the"circular argument".Externalized labor is the root of private property, and it generates private property based on its own labor foundation. However, due to the so-cial differentiation of private property rights, private property has the attribute of capital, which in turn leads to alienated la-bor.In the first draft of Economic and Philosophic Manuscripts of 1844,Marx proposed to study the origin of alienated labor and the essence of private property, which is crucial for understanding the transformation of labor from individuals to socie-ty.The proposal of this issue itself breaks the"circular argument".
