Interpretation of Marcuse's"False Needs"Thought from the Perspective of All-round Human Development
Needs are the nature of human beings, and material needs and spiritual needs are the prerequisites and in-ternal motivation for all-round human development. As the logical starting point of Marcuse's critique of the ideology of cap-italist advanced industrial society,"false needs"have a profound connotation. This paper interprets Marcuse's idea of"false needs"from the perspective of all-round human development, and expounds the adverse effects of"false needs"on the all-round development of human beings, that is,intensifying the contradiction between man and nature, forcing man to become a vassal of commodities, and inhibiting the motivation of man's all-round development.Interpreting Marcuse's"false needs"thought from the perspective of all-round human development is not only beneficial for our critical study of capitalist society, but also helps us to enhance our understanding of issues such as all-round human development, the need for a better life, green living, and ecological civilization construction in the development process of socialism with Chinese characteristics in the new era.
