The Whole-process People's Democracy:Development History,Practical Dilemmas and Innovative Paths
As a new form of Chinese-style democracy,the whole-process people's democracy is an important experi-ence in socialist democratic construction and conforms to the inherent regulations and essential attributes of Chinese modern-ization.The thought of whole-process people's democracy originates from the Marxist democratic theory.For more than a hundred years,the CPC has led the Chinese people to carry out great democratic practices and formed rich democratic ide-as,for the Chinese Communists made long-term exploration and practical application of people's democracy in the period of the new democratic revolution,promoted the construction of people's democracy as the institutional carrier in the period of socialist revolution and construction,enhanced the institutionalization of people's democracy in the new period of reform and opening up and socialist modernization,and proposed and developed the whole-process people's democracy since the new era of socialism with Chinese characteristics.Through investigations,it was found that the current institutional construction for practicing the whole-process people's democracy needs to be improved,the channels for public opinion need to be ex-panded,the effectiveness of practice needs to be promoted,and the collaborative promotion efforts need to be strengthened.Now on the new journey in the new era,to effectively promote the construction of the whole-process people's democracy,it is necessary to further consolidate the theoretical basis of practicing the whole-process people's democracy,adhere to the democratic principles involved,strengthen the democratic concept of it,improve the democratic system for it,and enhance the democratic efficiency of digital technology that empowers the practice of the whole-process people's democracy,so as to continuously write a new contemporary chapter of the whole-process people's democracy.
