The"Non-Delay"Phenomenon in First Online Publications and the Marking of Node Time
The edition-dissemination cycle of journal articles, from submission to first citation, involves seven stages of time delays:submission, review, printing, distribution, storage, processing, and citation. However, first online publi-cations demonstrate a"non-delay"phenomenon across each stage,i.e.,the delay duration is less than one day.Based on this, for first online publications, the minimum unit of time delay measurement should be adapted from"day"to"sec-ond".Meanwhile,such specific points in the editorial and dissemination process of the journal articles as receipt,publica-tion,delivery,download,and first citation should also be recorded in"second"so as to allow for precise management of time delay information within the closed-loop motion cycle of articles.
