Challenges and Countermeasures of Cultivating Talents Specialized in International Financial and Economic Laws
Currently,China is experiencing a severe shortage of talents specialized in international financial and eco-nomic laws. This deficiency fails to meet the country's needs in international governance and investment and financing serv-ices,so it severely restricts the exertion of China's international influence. This situation is largely associated with the inad-equate cultivation of such talents in colleges and universities. The inadequate cultivation of talents for international financial and economic laws in colleges and universities can be attributed to two main reasons:first, there are common issues in the cultivation process that are similar to those in the general international legal talent cultivation, including the insufficiency of legal English teaching capabilities among faculty and the lack of Anglo-American legal system thinking, difficulties in inter-disciplinary integration, scarcity of practical teaching, poor teaching staff, and inadequate construction of internationalized courses;second, there are specific challenges in cultivating talents for international financial and economic laws, such as the severe difficulty of training and high investment costs, due to the fact that these talents are interdisciplinary composite talents involving"law+finance+foreign languages."To address the aforementioned issues, both macro-level strategic positioning and micro-level specific measures are needed:constructing a curriculum system from the perspective of interdis-ciplinary integration of law, finance, and foreign languages, focusing on case analysis in foreign language teaching,optimi-zing the collaborative education mechanisms with practical departments such as international arbitration institutions and courts with jurisdiction over international financial cases, and strengthening the construction of teaching staff and enhancing the level of internationalized course development.
