The 75-year practice of ecological civilization construction in New China is a process of continuously resol-ving ecological problems and leading the exploration of seeking truth,achieving goodness,and harmony in ecological con-struction.From the general issues of ecological civilization construction and the overall situation of the ecological environ-ment,we can grasp the phased characteristics of China's 75-year construction practice of ecological civilization,and divide it into the initial period of ecological protection(1949-1978),the new period of ecological system construction and reform(1978-1992),the promotion period of sustainable development(1992-2002),the new stage of ecological civilization(2002-2012),and the new era of Beautiful China(2012-present).This is a gradual process from passive defense to active construction and comprehensive planning,from"fighting against nature"to coordinated development,sustainable de-velopment,scientific development,and then to a community of life with harmonious coexistence.The experience and inspi-ration of the 75-year ecological construction practice in New China are as follows:we must adhere to the ecological values of harmonious coexistence between humans and nature,persist in promoting the construction of an ecological civilization sys-tem,and take the path of socialist ecological civilization development with Chinese characteristics.
