"People's Dramas"and the Mobilization of Production and Construction in Anti-Japanese Base Areas in North China
During the period of Anti-Japanese War,in response to the need of both propaganda for Anti-Japanese War in enemy's rear areas and propaganda for production and struggle,a large number of"People's dramas"with the theme of production and construction movement were created in Anti-Japanese base areas in North China.These dramas artistically interpreted the land policy of reducing rent and interest,celebrated the production movement of opening up wasteland and ploughing in spring and exchanging labour to help each other and the heroes and models occurred in the process,which comprehensively presented the social picture of the Anti-Japanese base areas in North China.The production and construc-tion movement in the base areas gave birth to"People's dramas"and promoted the development and prosperity of People's literature and art,while the editing and performing activities of"People's Dramas"further promoted the production and con-struction movement in the base areas,strengthening the Anti-Japanese cultural propaganda and revolutionary ideological mo-bilization there.
