The application of ZnO coated with carbon for Ni-Zn secondary battery
The sample of ZnO coated with carbon (ZnO/C) is successfully synthesized by using a high energy ball milling method. As anodic material in Ni/Zn secondary batteries, the ZnO/C has a lower charge platform and a higher discharge platform, the sample also has a smaller ohmic resistance and charge-transfer resistance than the pure ZnO,and the cycle performance of carbon-coated ZnO is significantly improved. The improvement of the electrochemical performance can be ascribed to the unique structure of amorphous carbon layer.
