Investigation on the filtration and separation of ultrafine particles in high water content drilling solid waste
The difficulty in treating drilling solid waste lies in the presence of a large number of ultrafine particles smaller than 10 μm,which are difficult to separate. The methods of vibrating screen separation and deep filtration to develop a novel treatment approach for effectively removing ultrafine particles from high water content drilling solid waste, focusing on reducing the overall solid phase content and separating ultrafine particles. The results demonstrate that under the optimal process parameters, after the high water content drilling solid waste undergoes vibrating screen separation, larger particles above 10 μm are re-moved,and the solid phase content is reduced from 30.42%to 9.55%.The underflow liquid is then sub-jected to deep filtration treatment, resulting in the removal of 92.77%of ultrafine particles. The research findings indicate that the novel treatment method has a favorable removal effect on ultrafine particles in high water content drilling solid waste, which is conducive to meeting the requirements for recycling and utilization of such waste.
