Research progress on the adsorption of antibiotics from wastewater by modified biochar
This paper reviews some modification methods of biochar, including magnetic modification,het-eroatom doping modification, ball milling modification,acid-base modification, and focuses on the applica-tion of these modified biochar in the adsorption of antibiotics.Biochar,as an efficient and low-cost adsor-bent,has the potential to adsorb antibiotics because of the increasing environmental impact of antibiotics in wastewater. The removal mechanism of antibiotics from wastewater by modified biochar was also ana-lyzed,including electrostatic interaction,H bond,π-π interaction, and surface complexation. Some short-comings of modified biochar were summarized and the corresponding prospects for future work were put forward,so that modified biochar could be better used in the treatment of antibiotics in wastewater and play a greater role in environmental remediation.
