Experimental study on the electrocatalytic reduction of carbon dioxide to formic acid with large size indium metal electrode
By enlarging the H-type reactor, formic acid is produced by electrocatalytic reduction of carbon dioxide using indium metal sheet and tin metal sheet electrodes with an area of more than 100 cm2.The selectivity of carbon dioxide reduction reaction products, electrolysis ability and other aspects were stud-ied,and the optimization method of electrocatalytic formic acid production in large-scale metal electrode reactor was obtained. The results show that the optimal conditions for the reaction are the air inlet flow rate of 40 mL/min,the current density of-3.0 to-4.5 mA/cm2,and the neutral electrolyte.
