Modified coal cinder was prepared for adsorption and removal of sulfonamides antibiotics in wastewater
The orthogonal experiment was employed to optimize the modified conditions of coal cinder by FeCl3,so as to improve the utilization value of waste coal cinder and enhance the removal effect of antibi-otics in waste water.Effects of the dosage of modified coal cinder and solution pH were researched. In ad-dition,adsorption kinetics and isotherm of modified coal cinder on sulfadiazine(SD)and sulfathiazole(STZ)was investigated. The results showed that the optimal modification conditions were following:parti-cle size is 40~100 mush, calcination temperature is 200℃,solid-to-liquid ratio is 1∶8 and modification time is 4 h.With the increase of the amount of adsorbent, the removal rate of SD and STZ increased but the adsorption amount decreased. The weak acid and neutral conditions are conducive to the adsorption of SD and STZ by modified cinder. This adsorption reaction was consist with quasi-secondary kinetic and Langmuir isotherm models, and was a spontaneous, exothermic process. The maximum adsorption capacity modified coal cinder on SD and STZ was 0.405 2 mg/g and 0.662 0 mg/g,respectively,which increased to 7.8 and 4.8 times of the original cinder.
