In situ oxidation and regeneration of activated carbon in oilfield sewage tanks
The activated carbon from oilfield wastewater filter tank was regenerated in situ by ammonium persulfate(APS)thermal activation combined with ultrasonic and methanol extraction. The effect of the initial pH value, the dose of ammonium peroxide, the reaction temperature, the reaction time, the ultrason-ic enhanced APS power and the methanol concentration on the adsorption efficiency of the regenerated ac-tivated carbon was investigated. The results show that the combination of APS thermal activation with ul-trasound and methanol extraction results in better regeneration. When the initial pH value was 7,the APS solution concentration was 500 g/L,the reaction temperature was 70℃,the reaction time was 30 min,the ultrasonic intensity was 60%,the methanol extraction concentration was 100%,and the regeneration effi-ciency of activated carbon was 79.16%and 66.84%,respectively.
