Preparation of highly saturated magnetized y-Fe2O3 nanoparticles by thermal decomposition of ferric nitrate assisted by anhydrous oxalic acid
γ-Fe2O3 Nanoparticles were successfully synthesized by a simple one-step solid-phase method using iron nitrate[Fe(NO3)3·9H2O]and anhydrous oxalic acid(C2H2O4)as raw materials. The sam-ples'structure,morphology,and magnetic properties were analyzed by XRD,SEM-EDS,and N2-adsorp-tion/deactivation VSM.The results show that adding C2H2O4 to Fe(NO3)3·9H2O can successfully pre-pare rod-like γ-Fe2O3 with saturation magnetization of 76.3 emu/g.
