Research on the preparation of TiO2 with exposed highly reactive crystalline surface and its photocatalytic degradation performance on methyl orange
A highly active TiO2 photocatalyst with exposed {001} crystal faces was prepared by a one pot hydrothermal method using titanium sulfate as the titanium source and hydrofluoric acid as the morphology control agent. The photocatalyst was characterized by SEM,TEM,XRD,XPS,etc. The effect of factors such as the ratio of raw materials, reaction temperature, and reaction time on the degradation efficiency of TiO2 photocatalyst was investigated with methyl orange dye as the target degradation product. The results showed that when F/Ti was 1.0,the hydrothermal reaction temperature was 180 ℃,and the hydrothermal reaction time was 12 h,the TiO2 sample prepared could achieve a degradation rate of 92.5%for methyl orange. The photocatalytic degradation of methyl orange by TiO2 follows a first-order kinetic process.
