This paper introduces the development of the first 1000 kW AC drive heavy-duty rail car in China from the aspects of main technical parameters,general layout,component selection and vehicle performance.This type of heavy-duty rail car has been optimized and improved in the aspects of traction performance,economy,reliability,applicability and maintainability,which can meet the requirements of design and use.
