Phase Transformation of Binder Phase in Hard Alloy Tool Material for Machining Applications
In the cemented carbide tool materials for machining, there are two different binder phase structures:face-centered cubic phase and closely packed hexagonal phase structure, and the mechanical properties of different phase structures are quite different. Therefore,in order to optimize the comprehensive mechanical properties and service life of the tool, the gradient cemented carbide with different cobalt content was prepared, and the residual stress and binder phase EBSD of the prepared gradient cemented carbide were measured, and the conditions of binder phase transformation were analyzed by this method. The results show that in the region of high residual stress, the binder phase mainly exists in the form of face-centered cubic;while in the region of low stress, the binder phase mainly exists in the form of hexagonal close-packed.
