Air Leakage and Control Technology in the U-shaped Ventilation Working Face of A Mine in Shanxi Province
Given the fire hazard in the goaf of the No.8203 fully mechanized mining face of a mine in Shanxi province,we established a three-dimensional model of U-shaped ventilation to simulate the velocity field of goaf with wind speeds of 1 m/s,2 m/s,3 m/s,and 4 m/s with CFD software.According to the simulation results,we calculated the air volume of the mining face, analyzed the causes of air leakage, and finally proposed the control strategies to prevent the coal spontaneous combustion in goaf. The results showed that the air leakage area of the working face was mainly within the horizontal distance of 0 to 30 m from the air inlet side of the working face. When the air leakage occurred, the air leakage on the air inlet side was more serious, and sponta-neous coal combustion occurred. When the wind speed was 3 m/s with the same height, the oxi-dized area of the goaf was the largest. In the context of the actual situation, combined prevention and control technologies were implemented in goaf on the inlet side to improve the mining safety, including air leakage plugging, grouting, and nitrogen injecting fire extinguishing technology.
