Effect of Surfactants on the Wettability of Coal Dust at Different pH Levels
The wettability of coal dust in coal mines is affected by many factors. To explore the effect of surfactant solutions on the wettability of coal dust at different pH levels, this study used low-rank coal as the research object and added different mass fractions of hydrochloric acid(HC1)and sodium hydroxide(NaOH)to the anionic, cationic, and nonionic surfactant solutions.By measuring the surface tension of the solution, the contact angle between the solution and the coal samples, and calculating the surface energy of the coal samples treated under different condi-tions,the effect of the solution on the wettability was investigated. The results show that under different pH levels, the three surfactant solutions show different effects on the wettability.Among them, acidic conditions can improve the wettability of anionic and nonionic surfactant so-lutions,while the wettability of cationic surfactant solutions under alkaline conditions shows a slight change.
