Reasonable Width of Coal Pillars for Gob-side Entry Support in Island Working Face with Large Mining Height
Aiming at the problem of retaining coal pillar for the gob-side entry in the isolated island working face of the second mining area of Zhuanlongwan Mine, the stress distribution of coal pillars and the deformation of surrounding rock in the transportation roadway of No.2 work-ing face under different pillar widths were studied by numerical simulation. The reasonable coal pillar width was finally determined to be 19 m,and the reasonable coal pillar width verified the stability of the surrounding rock. The results show that the deformation of the surrounding rock can be effectively controlled and the stability of the surrounding rock can be realized within the range of 19 m of the coal pillar width. The findings have important theoretical significance and reference value for the determination of the reasonable width of the coal pillar in the gob-side en-try and the application of the roadway surrounding rock control technology.
