Comparison of Pod Rot Incidence in Different Peanut Cultivars
The incidence of pod rot in different peanut varieties was investigated under natural disease condi-tions to provide a reference for selecting peanut varieties resistant to pod rot in local peanut production. The re-sults revealed significant differences in the incidence and disease index of pod rot among the various peanut varie-ties.Among them,'Kainong308'exhibited the lowest pod rot incidence and disease index at 17.86%and 10.31%,respectively,followed by'Kainong1715'at 26.42%and 12.02%,respectively.'Zhonghua12'showed the most severe symptoms, with a pod rot incidence and disease index of 31.06%and 14.65%,respec-tively.When considering the total number of pods as a reference, the proportion of pod rot at all levels varied significantly among different varieties,with'Kainong308'having the lowest proportion, followed by'Kainong1715',and'Zhonghua12'exhibiting the most serious damage. When considering the number of sus-ceptible pods as a reference,'Zhonghua12'had the lowest proportion of grade 3,while grades 5 and 7 accoun-ted for significantly higher proportions compared to'Kainong308'and'Kainong1715',with no significant difference between'Kainong308'and'Kainong1715'.Under the experimental conditions, the incidence of pod rot was mild in high oleic acid peanut'Kainong308',followed by high oleic acid peanut'Kainong1715',while'Zhonghua12'experienced the most severe incidence of pod rot.
