Effect of Lodging Resistance and Yield-increasing Agents on High-density Maize Planting in Northern Shaanxi
To investigate the effects of maize lodging resistance and yield-increasing agents on different pa-rameters including plant height, ear position,root-shoot-leaf ratio, and biological yield of spring maize culti-vated under high-density conditions in northern Shaanxi, the aim is to lay a foundation for the implementation of high-density,lodging-resistant,and high-yielding maize cultivation practices in the region. The experimen-tal approach was to apply"Tuntianbao"maize lodging resistance and yield-enhancing agent during the 7~9 leaf stage of maize growth. The results indicated a significant decrease in average annual plant height by 50.8 cm,a reduction of average ear position by 23.2 cm,an increase in biological yield by 0.01 kg/plant,a rise in hundred-grain weight by 2.5 g,a decrease in moisture content by 2.95%,and a yield increase of 187.3 kg/667 m2.Application of the"Tuntianbao"agent demonstrated its potential to enhance lodging resistance and biological yield of spring maize in high-density planting regions of northern Shaanxi.
