Effects of Different Sowing Methods on Germination Rate of Forsythia Suspensa
To enhance the seeding rate of Forsythia suspensa seeds and promote the development of the For-sythia suspensa industry,an experiment was conducted to investigate effects of different treatments on the seed e-mergence rate. The results showed that sowing after Jingzhe in spring or late September for autumn sowing led to higher emergence rate;the seed emergence rate was higher when the fully mature seeds were harvested in mid-October;the seed emergence rate was higher when the air-dried seeds were used compared to sun-dried seeds;the seed emergence rate was higher when using sandy loam for sowing with mature and qualified seeds;the seed emergence rate was higher when using sand storage for winter seed before sowing;and the seed emer-gence rate was higher when using a 200 μg/g solution of naphthaleneacetic acid(NAA)for seed germination treatment before sowing. This experiment provides a scientific foundation for Forsythia suspensa seedling-raising in Shangzhou area.
