Powdery Mildew Resistance Gene of New Wheat Variety'Pinyu 8012'
Wheat variety'Pinyu 8012',selected and bred by Wheat Research Institute of Shanxi Agricul-tural University,was approved by Shanxi Province in 2018.The parent combination'Linyou 20165'/'Jimai 22',has been listed as the main agricultural production variety in Shanxi Province for three consecutive years from 2020 to 2022,and this variety has demonstrated near-immunity to powdery mildew.To understand the powdery mildew resistance of'Pinyu 8012',the known disease resistance gene of the parents was first tested,followed by testing for other disease resistance genes,and the field identification tests were conducted at 15 ex-perimental sites in Shanxi,Shandong,and Hebei.It was concluded that'Pinyu 8012'carries 13 powdery mil-dew resistance genes,which is resistant to or even nearly immune to powdery mildew in Shanxi,Shandong and Hebei.Therefore,'Pinyu 8012'can be a valube source for selection and breeding of powdery mildew-resistant wheat varieties.
