Occurrence Regularity and Control Techniques of Pseudaulacaspis pentagona on Rosa chinensis in Sanmenxia
The study results indicate that Pseudaulacaspis pentagona exhibits two generations annually in Sanmenxia, with fertilized female adults overwintering.Egg laying begins in late April of the following year,pea-king in early to mid-May.The male to female ratio is l:2.8,with an average egg production of 86~108 per female.Male adults exhibit gregarious behavior and cause destructive damage.Predatory insects such as Chilo-corus kuwanae Silvestri,Chilocorus rubidus Hope, and Pteroptrix chinensis(Howard)serve as primary natural enemies.Field trials demonstrated that control efficacy during the first instar nymph stage surpassed that during the scale formation stage.Effective control methods during the nymph stage included 600-fold dilutions of 40%methidathion EC and 2 500-fold dilutions of 1.2%Matrine·Nicotine EC.During the scale formation stage, treatments with 2 500-fold dilutions of 1.2%Matrine·Nicotine EC and 1 500-fold dilutions of 55%cyper-methrin·chlorpyrifos EC are recommended.
